New from Magnorail: Track Cover Supports!

Requested by many modelers, Magnorail is pleased to present its brand-new range of accessories: Track Cover Supports!

These 8 mm thick MDF wood elements perfectly surround the Magnorail tracks to help conceal the drive system, facilitate the installation of surface coverings, and above all, provide a clean and neat finish to your layouts.

Why develop this new product?

During trade show demonstrations and discussions with enthusiasts, one question kept coming up:

« What is the height of the Magnorail track? »

Behind this question lies a real issue: what material to use to create a surface support perfectly aligned with the track?

With its 8 mm height, the Magnorail track does not match any standard thickness available on the market. As a result, until now, makeshift solutions had to be devised, stacking materials or manually cutting supports to obtain a flat surface. This work was often tedious, imprecise, and could impair the proper functioning of the system.

This observation led to the creation of this new range of track cover supports.
The objective is clear: to offer a simple, quick, and clean solution to integrate Magnorail into all layouts. These new references allow for custom covering, save time during installation, and ensure smooth and realistic vehicle movement, regardless of your circuit configuration.

In three words: Place, cover, admire!

New references, new possibilities

SO-9 : Track Cover Support for Motor Module

The SO-9 reference is specially designed to surround the motor module, ensuring a clean and continuous finish throughout your installation.

It is perfectly suitable for motor modules delivered individually (Uma-2, Umb-2, Umc-2) as part of an extension. It also complements the SO-11, SO-12, and SO-13 references for the complete covering of an expert set (BF-2, BS-2, BV-2).

The motor module is a key component of the Magnorail system and requires special attention during installation to avoid any derailment of the chain later on. An improper covering support can cause the covering to peel off and disrupt the system’s proper functioning. The SO-9 solves this problem by providing a larger, perfectly flat, robust, and durable covering surface.

Moreover, thanks to its neat design, it perfectly fits the complex curves of the motor module without hindering maintenance operations (access possible from below).

SO-10 :
Track Cover Support for Basic Set

This reference is specifically designed to cover the entire length of track of a basic set (95 cm) and consists of 2 pieces to perfectly surround the motor module (SO-9) and 34 small pieces allowing you to follow the curves of the flexible track as you wish (14 pieces with a lower opening and 20 pieces with an upper opening).

SO-11 / SO-12 / SO-13 : Customize your circuit

These 3 references are specifically designed to cover 60 cm of track, equivalent to a UE-1 extension. They also cover 1/3 of the Expert Sets (BF-2, BS-2, and BV-2), each comprising 3 x 60 cm of track.

For an Expert Set (BF-2, BS-2, BV-2), you only need 3 references of your choice among SO-11, SO-12, and SO-13 to adapt the covering to your layout!

You can also complete your installation with the SO-9 reference, which contains two pieces specially designed to surround the motor module.

SO-11 : Track Cover Support60 cm Straight Line

The SO-11 is specifically designed to cover 60 cm of straight track. It includes 6 long elements for straight sections and 6 short elements to ensure precise covering of the track. Ideal for creating clean and perfectly aligned straight lines.

SO-12 : Track Cover Support 60 cm Curve

The SO-12 is specifically designed to cover 60 cm of curved track. It includes 24 small pieces allowing you to follow the curves of the flexible track as you wish (12 pieces with a lower opening and 12 pieces with an upper opening).

SO-13 :
Track Cover Support 60 cm Mixed

The SO-13 is specially designed to cover 60 cm of track in a mixed layout. It includes 4 long elements for straight sections, 6 short elements with lower openings, and 9 short elements with upper openings, allowing you to cover 20 cm in straight line, 20 cm in a curve, and the remaining portion adjustable according to your layout.

SO-14 : Track Cover Support 60 cm Double Straight Line

The SO-14 is designed to cover a double track of 60 cm, equivalent to two UE-1 extensions. It includes 6 long elements, 6 short ones, and specific central parts allowing you to create a realistic double-lane road in HO scale.

Thanks to its perfectly calibrated template, this set ensures clean and parallel straight lines, and consistent spacing between the tracks. Reproducing a two-lane road in HO scale can be complex depending on the vehicles or type of road (country road, departmental road…). The SO-14 makes this easier with its central parts, which define the standard HO spacing of 3.5 cm, ensuring smooth traffic—even for wider vehicles like buses or trucks.

These central pieces also include lateral openings, allowing the track fixing screws to fit in without forcing, while preserving the overall track alignment.

Contents of the SO-14 set:

  • ✅ 6 large straight elements (16 cm, width 2.3 cm)
  • ✅ 6 small straight elements (4 cm, width 2.3 cm)
  • ✅ 3 large central pieces (16 cm, width 2.6 cm)
  • ✅ 3 small central pieces (4 cm, width 2.6 cm)

Once assembled, the full set reaches a total width of 9 cm, perfectly adapted to miniature traffic standards in HO scale.

The SO-14 can be integrated into multiple layouts.

Example 1: To build about 95 cm of double-lane road, you can use:

– 1 Expert Set (BF-2, BS-2 ou BV-2)

– 2 x SO-14

– 1 x SO-9 to surround the motor module

Example 2: To build about 180 cm of double-lane road, you can use:

– 2 Expert Sets (BF-2, BS-2 ou BV-2)

– 2 x SO-14 (for straight sections)

– 3 x SO-12 (for curves)

– 2 x SO-9 to surround the motor modules
